  1. (Firon) said to those around him: Do you not hear?

  2. He said: Do they hear you when you call?

  3. Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it.

  4. Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

  5. They incline their ears, and most of them are liars.

  6. Surely you do not make the dead to hear, and you do not make the deaf to hear the call when they go back retreating.

  7. Nor can you be a guide to the blind out of their error; you cannot make to bear (any one) except those who believe in Our communications, so they submit.

  8. So when Musa came to them with Our clear signs, they said: This is nothing but forged enchantment, and we never heard of it amongst our fathers of old.

  9. And when they hear idle talk they turn aside from it and say: We shall have our deeds and you shall have your deeds; peace be on you, we do not desire the ignorant.

  10. Say: Tell me, if Allah were to make the night to continue incessantly on you till the day of resurrection, who is the god besides Allah that could bring you light? Do you not then hear?

  11. Whoever hopes to meet Allah, the term appointed by Allah will then most surely come; and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

  12. And how many a living creature that does not carry its sustenance: Allah sustains it and yourselves; and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

  13. And one of His signs is your sleeping and your seeking of His grace by night and (by) day; most surely there are signs in this for a people who would hear.

  14. For surely you cannot, make the dead to hear and you cannot make the deaf to hear the call, when they turn back and

  15. Nor can you lead away the blind out of their error. You cannot make to hear any but those who believe in Our communications so they shall submit.

  16. And when Our communications are recited to him, he turns back proudly, as if he had not heard them, as though in his ears were a heaviness, therefore announce to him a painful chastisement.

  17. Neither your creation nor your raising is anything but as a single soul; surely Allah is Hearing, Seeing.

  18. Then He made him complete and breathed into him of His spirit, and made for you the ears and the eyes and the hearts; little is it that you give thanks.

  19. And could you but see when the guilty shall hang down their heads before their Lord: Our Lord! we have seen and we have heard, therefore send us back, we will do good; surely (now) we are certain.

  20. Does it not point out to them the right way, how many of the generations, in whose abodes they go about, did We destroy before them? Most surely there are signs in this; will they not then hear?

  21. Say: If I err, I err only against my own soul, and if I follow a right direction, it ?s because of what my Lord reveals to me; surely He is Hearing, Nigh.

  22. If you call on them they shall not hear your call, and even if they could hear they shall not answer you; and on the resurrection day they will deny your associating them (with Allah); and none can inform you like the One Who is Aware.

  23. Neither are the living and the dead alike. Surely Allah makes whom He pleases hear, and you cannot make those hear who are m the graves.

  24. Surely I believe in your Lord, therefore hear me.

  25. They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side,

  26. We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery:

  27. Those who listen to the word, then follow the best of it; those are they whom Allah has guided, and those it is who are the men of understanding.

  28. And Allah judges with the truth; and those whom they call upon besides Him cannot judge aught; surely Allah is the Hearing, the Seeing.

  29. Surely (as for) those who dispute about the communications of Allah without any authority that has come to them, there is naught in their breasts but (a desire) to become great which they shall never attain to; Therefore seek refuge in Allah, surely He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

  30. A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not.

  31. Until when they come to it, their ears and their eyes and their skins shall bear witness against them as to what they did.

  32. And you did not veil yourselves lest your ears and your eyes and your skins should bear witness against you, but you thought that Allah did not know most of what you did.

  33. And those who disbelieve say: Do not listen to this Quran and make noise therein, perhaps you may overcome.

  34. And if an interference of the Shaitan should cause you mischief, seek refuge in Allah; surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

  35. The Originator of the heavens and the earth; He made mates for you from among yourselves, and mates of the cattle too, multiplying you thereby; nothing like a likeness of Him; and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

  36. What! can you then make the deaf to hear or guide the blind and him who is in clear error?

  37. Or do they think that We do not hear what they conceal and their secret discourses? Aye! and Our messengers with them write down.

  38. A mercy from your Lord, surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing,

  39. Who hears the communications of Allah recited to him, then persists proudly as though he had not heard them; so announce to him a painful punishment.

  40. Have you then considered him who takes his low desire for his god, and Allah has made him err having knowledge and has set a seal upon his ear and his heart and put a covering upon his eye. Who can then guide him after Allah? Will you not then be mindful?

  41. And certainly We had established them in what We have not established you in, and We had given-- them ears and eyes and hearts, but neither their ears, nor their eyes, nor their hearts availed them aught, since they denied the communications of Allah, and that which they mocked encompassed them.

  42. And when We turned towards you a party of the jinn who listened to the Quran; so when they came to it, they said: Be silent; then when it was finished, they turned back to their people warning (them).

  43. They said: O our people! we have listened to a Book revealed after Musa verifying that which is before it, guiding to the truth and to a right path:

  44. And there are those of them who seek to listen to you, until when they go forth from you, they say to those who have been given the knowledge: What was it that he said just now? These are they upon whose hearts Allah has set a seal and they follow their low desires.

  45. O you who believe! be not forward in the presence of Allah and His Messenger, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; surely Allah is Hearing, Knowing.

  46. Most surely there is a reminder in this for him who has a heart or he gives ear and is a witness.

  47. And listen on the day when the crier shall cry from a near place

  48. The day when they shall hear the cry in truth; that is the day of coming forth.

  49. Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority.

  50. They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse,

  51. Allah indeed knows the plea of her who pleads with you about her husband and complains to Allah, and Allah knows the contentions of both of you; surely Allah is Hearing, Seeing.

  52. And when you see them, their persons will please you, and If they speak, you will listen to their speech; (they are) as if they were big pieces of wood clad with garments; they think every cry to be against them. They are the enemy, therefore beware of them; may Allah destroy them, whence are they turned back?

  53. Therefore be careful of (your duty to) Allah as much as you can, and hear and obey and spend, it is better for your souls; and whoever is saved from the greediness of his soul, these it is that are the successful.

  54. When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves,

  55. And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire.

  56. Say: He it is Who brought you into being and made for you the ears and the eyes and the hearts: little is it that you give thanks.

  57. And those who disbelieve would almost smite you with their eyes when they hear the reminder, and they say: Most surely he is mad. Those who disbelieved show their ridicule in their eyes when they hear the message and say, "He is crazy!"

  58. Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran,

  59. And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him:

  60. And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace):

  61. Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing.

  62. They shall not hear therein any vain words nor lying.

  63. Wherein you shall not hear vain talk.
