  1. He said: My Lord! appoint a sign for me. Said He: Your sign is that you should not speak to men for three days except by signs; and remember your Lord much and glorify Him in the evening and the morning.

  2. And do not drive away those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, they desire only His favor; neither are you answerable for any reckoning of theirs, nor are they answerable for any reckoning of yours, so that you should drive them away and thus be of the unjust.

  3. And they came to their father at nightfall, weeping.

  4. And withhold yourself with those who call on their Lord morning and evening desiring His goodwill, and let not your eyes pass from them, desiring the beauties of this world's life; and do not follow him whose heart We have made unmindful to Our remembrance, and he follows his low desires and his case is one in which due bounds are exceeded.

  5. So he went forth to his people from his place of worship, then he made known to them that they should glorify (Allah) morning and evening.

  6. They shall not hear therein any vain discourse, but only: Peace, and they shall have their sustenance therein morning and evening.

  7. O you who believe! let those whom your right hands possess and those of you who have not attained to puberty ask permission of you three times; before the morning prayer, and when you put off your clothes at midday in summer, and after the prayer of the nightfall; these are three times of privacy for you; neither is it a sin for you nor for them besides these, some of you must go round about (waiting) upon others; thus does Allah make clear to you the communications, and Allah is Knowing, Wise.

  8. And to Him belongs praise in the heavens and the earth, and at nightfall and when you are at midday.

  9. Surely We made the mountains to sing the glory (of Allah) in unison with him at the evening and the sunrise,

  10. When there were brought to him in the evening (horses) still when standing, swift when running--

  11. The fire; they shall be brought before it (every) morning and evening and on the day when the hour shall come to pass: Make Firon's people enter the severest chastisement.

  12. Therefore be patient; surely the promise of Allah is true; and ask protection for your fault and sing the praise of your Lord in the evening and the morning.

  13. And whoever turns himself away from the remembrance of the Beneficent Allah, We appoint for him a Shaitan, so he becomes his associate.

  14. On the day that they see it, it will be as though they had not tarried but the latter part of a day or the early part of it.
