  1. Our Lord! make not our hearts to deviate after Thou hast guided us aright, and grant us from Thee mercy; surely Thou art the most liberal Giver.

  2. There did Zakariya pray to his Lord; he said: My Lord! grant me from Thee good offspring; surely Thou art the Hearer of prayer.

  3. And We gave to him Ishaq and Yaqoub; each did We guide, and Nuh did We guide before, and of his descendants, Dawood and Sulaiman and Ayub and Yusuf and Haroun; and thus do We reward those who do good (to others).

  4. Praise be to Allah, Who has given me in old age Ismail and Ishaq; most surely my Lord is the Hearer of prayer:

  5. And surely I fear my cousins after me, and my wife is barren, therefore grant me from Thyself an heir,

  6. He said: I am only a messenger of your Lord: That I will give you a pure boy.

  7. So when he withdrew from them and what they worshipped besides Allah, We gave to him Ishaq and Yaqoub, and each one of them We made a prophet.

  8. And We granted to them of Our mercy, and We left (behind them) a truthful mention of eminence for them.

  9. And We gave to him out of Our mercy his brother Haroun a prophet.

  10. And We gave him Ishaq and Yaqoub, a son's son, and We made (them) all good.

  11. So We responded to him and gave him Yahya and made his wife fit for him; surely they used to hasten, one with another In deeds of goodness and to call upon Us, hoping and fearing and they were humble before Us.

  12. And they who say: O our Lord! grant us in our wives and our offspring the joy of our eyes, and make us guides to those who guard (against evil).

  13. So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the messengers;

  14. My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good

  15. And We granted him Ishaq and Yaqoub, and caused the t prophethood and the book to remain in his seed, and We gave him his reward in this world, and in the hereafter he will most surely be among the good.

  16. O Prophet! surely We have made lawful to you your wives whom you have given their dowries, and those whom your right hand possesses out of those whom Allah has given to you as prisoners of war, and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts, and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who fled with you; and a believing woman if she gave herself to the Prophet, if the Prophet desired to marry her-- specially for you, not for the (rest of) believers; We know what We have ordained for them concerning their wives and those whom their right hands possess in order that no blame may attach to you; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

  17. My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds.

  18. Or is it that they have the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the great Giver?

  19. And We gave to Dawood Sulaiman, most excellent the servant! Surely he was frequent in returning (to Allah).

  20. He said: My Lord! do Thou forgive me and grant me a kingdom which is not fit for (being inherited by) anyone after me;

  21. And We gave him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to those possessed of understanding.

  22. Allah's is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; He creates what He pleases; He grants to whom He pleases daughters and grants to whom He pleases sons.
