  1. They ask you about the hour, when will be its taking place? Say: The knowledge of it is only with my Lord; none but He shall manifest it at its time; it will be momentous in the heavens and the earth; it will not come on you but of a sudden. They ask you as if you were solicitous about it. Say: Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know.

  2. And he said: Embark in it, in the name of Allah be its sailing and its anchoring; most surely my Lord is Forgiving, Merciful.

  3. And He it is Who spread the earth and made in it firm mountains and rivers, and of all fruits He has made in it two kinds; He makes the night cover the day; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.

  4. And the earth-- We have spread it forth and made in it firm mountains and caused to grow in it of every suitable thing.

  5. And He has cast great mountains in the earth lest it might be convulsed with you, and rivers and roads that you may go aright,

  6. And We have made great mountains in the earth lest it might be convulsed with them, and We have made in it wide ways that they may follow a right direction.

  7. Or, Who made the earth a restingplace, and made in it rivers, and raised on it mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier. Is there a god with Allah? Nay! most of them do not know!

  8. He created the heavens without pillars as you see them, and put mountains upon the earth lest it might convulse with you, and He spread in it animals of every kind; and We sent down water from the cloud, then caused to grow therein (vegetation) of every noble kind.

  9. They made for him what he pleased of fortresses and images, and bowls (large) as watering-troughs and cooking-pots that will not move from their place; give thanks, O family of Dawood! and very few of My servants are grateful.

  10. And He made in it mountains above its surface, and He blessed therein and made therein its foods, in four periods: alike for the seekers.

  11. And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds,

  12. And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water?

  13. And the mountains, He made them firm,
