  1. But the Shaitan made them both fall from it, and caused them to depart from that (state) in which they were; and We said: Get forth, some of you being the enemies of others, and there is for you in the earth an abode and a provision for a time.

  2. It is not righteousness that you turn your faces towards the East and the West, but righteousness is this that one should believe in Allah and the last day and the angels and the Book and the prophets, and give away wealth out of love for Him to the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer and the beggars and for (the emancipation of) the captives, and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate; and the performers of their promise when they make a promise, and the patient in distress and affliction and in time of conflicts-- these are they who are true (to themselves) and these are they who guard (against evil).

  3. O you who believe! do not put questions about things which if declared to you may trouble you, and if you question about them when the Quran is being revealed, they shall be declared to you; Allah pardons this, and Allah is Forgiving, Forbearing.

  4. O you who believe! call to witness between you when death draws nigh to one of you, at the time of making the will, two just persons from among you, or two others from among others than you, if you are travelling in the land and the calamity of death befalls you; the two (witnesses) you should detain after the prayer; then if you doubt (them), they shall both swear by Allah, (saying): We will not take for it a price, though there be a relative, and we will not hide the testimony of Allah for then certainly we should be among the sinners.

  5. He said: Get forth, some of you, the enemies of others, and there is for you in the earth an abode and a provision for a time.

  6. And wherefore was there not a town which should believe so that their belief should have profited them but the people of Yunus? When they believed, We removed from them the chastisement of disgrace in this world's life and We gave them provision till a time.

  7. Now surely they fold up their breasts that they may conceal (their enmity) from Him; now surely, when they use their garments as a covering, He knows what they conceal and what they make public; surely He knows what is in the breasts.

  8. Then it occurred to them after they had seen the signs that they should imprison him till a time.

  9. Yielding its fruit in every season by the permission of its Lord? And Allah sets forth parables for men that they may be mindful.

  10. And there is beauty in them for you when you drive them back (to home), and when you send them forth (to pasture).

  11. And Allah has given you a place to abide in your houses, and He has given you tents of the skins of cattle which you find light to carry on the day of your march and on the day of your halting, and of their wool and their fur and their hair (He has given you) household stuff and a provision for a time.

  12. Had those who disbelieve but known (of the time) when they shall not be able to ward off the fire from their faces nor from their backs, nor shall they be helped.

  13. And I do not know if this may be a trial for you and a provision till a time.

  14. He is only a madman, so bear with him for a time.

  15. Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till

  16. O you who believe! let those whom your right hands possess and those of you who have not attained to puberty ask permission of you three times; before the morning prayer, and when you put off your clothes at midday in summer, and after the prayer of the nightfall; these are three times of privacy for you; neither is it a sin for you nor for them besides these, some of you must go round about (waiting) upon others; thus does Allah make clear to you the communications, and Allah is Knowing, Wise.

  17. He had well-nigh led us astray from our gods had we not adhered to them patiently! And they will know, when they see the punishment, who is straying farther off from the path.

  18. Who sees you when you stand up.

  19. And he went into the city at a time of unvigilance on the part of its people, so he found therein two men fighting, one being of his party and the other of his foes, and he who was of his party cried out to him for help against him who was of his enemies, so Musa struck him with his fist and killed him. He said: This is on account of the Shaitan's doing; surely he is an enemy, openly leading astray.

  20. Therefore glory be to Allah when you enter upon the time of the evening and when you enter upon the time of the morning.

  21. And to Him belongs praise in the heavens and the earth, and at nightfall and when you are at midday.

  22. But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment till a time.

  23. And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time.

  24. Therefore turn away from them till a time,

  25. And turn away from them till a time

  26. How many did We destroy before them of the generations, then they cried while the time of escaping had passed away.

  27. And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time.

  28. Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that die not during their sleep; then He withholds those on whom He has passed the decree of death and sends the others back till an appointed term; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.

  29. Or it should say when it sees the punishment: Were there only a returning for me, I should be of the doers of good.

  30. And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while.

  31. And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise;

  32. And you at that time look on--

  33. There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning.
