  1. And (as to) those who disbelieve in and reject My communications, they are the inmates of the fire, in it they shall abide.

  2. Yea, whoever earns evil and his sins beset him on every side, these are the inmates of the fire; in it they shall abide.

  3. And (as for) those who believe and do good deeds, these are the dwellers of the garden; in it they shall abide.

  4. Surely We have sent you with the truth as a bearer of good news and as a warner, and you shall not be called upon to answer for the companions of the flaming fire.

  5. They ask you concerning the sacred month about fighting in it. Say: Fighting in it is a grave matter, and hindering (men) from Allah's way and denying Him, and (hindering men from) the Sacred Mosque and turning its people out of it, are still graver with Allah, and persecution is graver than slaughter; and they will not cease fighting with you until they turn you back from your religion, if they can; and whoever of you turns back from his religion, then he dies while an unbeliever-- these it is whose works shall go for nothing in this world and the hereafter, and they are the inmates of the fire; therein they shall abide.

  6. Allah is the guardian of those who believe. He brings them out of the darkness into the light; and (as to) those who disbelieve, their guardians are Shaitans who take them out of the light into the darkness; they are the inmates of the fire, in it they shall abide.

  7. Those who swallow down usury cannot arise except as one whom Shaitan has prostrated by (his) touch does rise. That is because they say, trading is only like usury; and Allah has allowed trading and forbidden usury. To whomsoever then the admonition has come from his Lord, then he desists, he shall have what has already passed, and his affair is in the hands of Allah; and whoever returns (to it)-- these arc the inmates of the fire; they shall abide in it.

  8. (As for) those who disbelieve, surely neither their wealth nor their children shall avail them in the least against Allah; and these are the inmates of the fire; therein they shall abide.

  9. And serve Allah and do not associate any thing with Him and be good to the parents and to the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the neighbor of (your) kin and the alien neighbor, and the companion in a journey and the wayfarer and those whom your right hands possess; surely Allah does not love him who is proud, boastful;

  10. O you who have been given the Book! believe that which We have revealed, verifying what you have, before We alter faces then turn them on their backs, or curse them as We cursed the violaters of the Sabbath, and the command of Allah shall be executed.

  11. And (as for) those who disbelieve and reject our communications, these are the companions of the name.

  12. Surely I wish that you should bear the sin committed against me and your own sin, and so you would be of the inmates of the fire, and this is the recompense of the unjust.

  13. And (as for) those who disbelieve and reject Our communications, these are the companions of the flame.

  14. Say: Shall we call on that besides Allah, which does not benefit us nor harm us, and shall we be returned back on our heels after Allah has guided us, like him whom the Shaitans have made to fall down perplexed in the earth? He has companions who call him to the right way, (saying): Come to us. Say: Surely the guidance of Allah, that is the (true) guidance, and we are commanded that we should submit to the Lord of the worlds.

  15. Wonderful Originator of the heavens and the earth! How could He have a son when He has no consort, and He (Himself) created everything, and He is the Knower of all things.

  16. And (as for) those who reject Our communications and turn away from them haughtily-- these are the inmates of the fire they shall abide in it.

  17. And (as for) those who believe and do good We do not impose on any soul a duty except to the extent of its ability-- they are the dwellers of the garden; in it they shall abide.

  18. And the dwellers of the garden will call out to the inmates of the fire: Surely we have found what our Lord promised us to be true; have you too found what your Lord promised to be true? They will say: Yes. Then a crier will cry out among them that the curse of Allah is on the unjust.

  19. And between the two there shall be a veil, and on the most elevated places there shall be men who know all by their marks, and they shall call out to the dwellers of the garden: Peace be on you; they shall not have yet entered it, though they hope.

  20. And when their eyes shall be turned towards the inmates of the fire, they shall say: Our Lord! place us not with the unjust

  21. And the dwellers of the most elevated places shall ca!l out to men whom they will recognize by their marks saying: Of no avail were to you your amassings and your behaving haughtily:

  22. And the inmates of the fire shall call out to the dwellers of the garden, saying: Pour on us some water or of that which Allah has given you. They shall say: Surely Allah has prohibited them both to the unbelievers.

  23. Do they not reflect that their companion has not unsoundness in mind; he is only a plain warner.

  24. If you will not aid him, Allah certainly aided him when those who disbelieved expelled him, he being the second of the two, when they were both in the cave, when he said to his companion: Grieve not, surely Allah is with us. So Allah sent down His tranquillity upon him and strengthened him with hosts which you did not see, and made lowest the word of those who disbelieved; and the word of Allah, that is the highest; and Allah is Mighty, Wise.

  25. Has not the news of those before them come to them; of the people of Nuh and Ad and Samood, and the people of Ibrahim and the dwellers of Madyan and the overthrown cities; their messengers came to them with clear arguments; so it was not Allah Who should do them injustice, but they were unjust to themselves.

  26. It is not (fit) for the Prophet and those who believe that they should ask forgiveness for the polytheists, even though they should be near relatives, after it has become clear to them that they are inmates of the flaming fire.

  27. For those who do good is good (reward) and more (than this); and blackness or ignominy shall not cover their faces; these are the dwellers of the garden; in it they shall abide.

  28. And (as for) those who have earned evil, the punishment of an evil is the like of it, and abasement shall come upon them-- they shall have none to protect them from Allah-- as if their faces had been covered with slices of the dense darkness of night; these are the inmates of the fire; in it they shall abide.

  29. Surely (as to) those who believe and do good and humble themselves to their Lord, these are the dwellers of the garden, in it they will abide.

  30. O my two mates of the prison! are sundry lords better or Allah the One, the Supreme?

  31. O my two mates of the prison! as for one of you, he shall give his lord to drink wine; and as for the other, he shall be crucified, so that the birds shall eat from his head, the matter is decreed concerning which you inquired.

  32. And if you would wonder, then wondrous is their saying: What! when we are dust, shall we then certainly be in a new creation? These are they who disbelieve in their Lord, and these have chains on their necks, and they are the inmates of the fire; in it they shall abide.

  33. And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust.

  34. And the dwellers of the Rock certainly rejected the messengers;

  35. Or, do you think that the Fellows of the Cave and the Inscription were of Our wonderful signs?

  36. And he possessed much wealth; so he said to his companion, while he disputed with him: I have greater wealth than you, and am mightier in followers.

  37. His companion said to him while disputing with him: Do you disbelieve in Him Who created you from dust, then from a small seed, then He made you a perfect man?

  38. He said: If I ask you about anything after this, keep me not in your company; indeed you shall have (then) found an excuse in my case.

  39. Say: Every one (of us) is awaiting, therefore do await: So you will come to know who is the follower of the even path and who goes aright.

  40. Or, have they gods who can defend them against Us? They shall not be able to assist themselves, nor shall they be defended from Us.

  41. As well as those of Madyan and Musa (too) was rejected, but I gave respite to the unbelievers, then did I overtake them, so how (severe) was My disapproval.

  42. And (as for) those who strive to oppose Our communications, they shall be the inmates of the flaming fire.

  43. The dwellers of the garden shall on that day be in a better abiding-place and a better resting-place.

  44. And Ad and Samood and the dwellers of the Rass and many generations between them.

  45. So when the two hosts saw each other, the companions of Musa cried out: Most surely we are being overtaken.

  46. The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the messengers.

  47. So We delivered him and the inmates of the ark, and made it a sign to the nations.

  48. And if they contend with you that you should associate with Me what you have no knowledge of, do not obey them, and keep company with them in this world kindly, and follow the way of him who turns to Me, then to Me is your return, then will I inform you of what you did--

  49. Say: I exhort you only to one thing, that rise up for Allah's sake in twos and singly, then ponder: there is no madness in your fellow-citizen; he is only a warner to you before a severe chastisement.

  50. Surely the Shaitan is your enemy, so take him for an enemy; he only invites his party that they may be inmates of the burning

  51. And set out to them an example of the people of the town, when the messengers came to it.

  52. Surely the dwellers of the garden shall on that day be in an occupation quite happy.

  53. And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties.

  54. And when distress afflicts a man he calls upon his Lord turning to Him frequently; then when He makes him possess a favor from Him, he forgets that for which he called upon Him before, and sets up rivals to Allah that he may cause (men) to stray off from His path. Say: Enjoy yourself in your ungratefulness a little, surely you are of the inmates of the fire.

  55. And thus did the word of your Lord prove true against those who disbelieved that they are the inmates of the fire.

  56. No doubt that what you call me to has no title to be called to in this world, nor in the hereafter, and that our turning back is to Allah, and that the extravagant are the inmates of the fire;

  57. These are the dwellers of the garden, abiding therein: a reward for what they did.

  58. These are they from whom We accept the best of what they have done and pass over their evil deeds, among the dwellers of the garden; the promise of truth which they were promised.

  59. (Others) before them rejected (prophets): the people of Nuh and the dwellers of Ar-Rass and Samood,

  60. And the dwellers of the grove and the people of Tuba; all rejected the messengers, so My threat came to pass.

  61. So surely those who are unjust shall have a portion like the portion of their companions, therefore let them not ask Me to hasten on.

  62. Your companion does not err, nor does he go astray;

  63. But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her).

  64. Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand!

  65. And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand!

  66. And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand!

  67. For the sake of the companions of the right hand.

  68. And those of the left hand, how wretched are those of the left hand!

  69. And if he is one of those on the right hand,

  70. Then peace to you from those on the right hand.

  71. And (as for) those who believe in Allah and His messengers, these it is that are the truthful and the faithful ones in the sight of their Lord: they shall have their reward and their light, and (as for) those who disbelieve and reject Our communications, these are the inmates of the hell.

  72. Neither their wealth nor their children shall avail them aught against Allah; they are the inmates of the fire, therein they shall abide.

  73. Not alike are the inmates of the fire and the dwellers of the garden: the dwellers of the garden are they that are the achievers.

  74. O you who believe! do not make friends with a people with whom Allah is wroth; indeed they despair of the hereafter as the unbelievers despair of those in tombs.

  75. And (as for) those who disbelieve and reject Our communications, they are the inmates of the fire, to abide therein and evil is the resort.

  76. And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire.

  77. So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire.

  78. Surely We will try them as We tried the owners of the garden, when they swore that they would certainly cut off the produce in the morning,

  79. So wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, and be not like the companion of the fish, when he cried while he was in distress.

  80. And his wife and his brother

  81. And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son:

  82. And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals.

  83. Except the people of the right hand,

  84. And his spouse and his son--

  85. And your companion is not gone mad.

  86. Cursed be the makers of the pit,

  87. These are the people of the right hand.

  88. And (as for) those who disbelieve in our communications, they are the people of the left hand.

  89. Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with the possessors of the elephant?
