Appears 28 times in the Quran.

  1. And who believe in that which has been revealed to you and that which was revealed before you and they are sure of the hereafter.

  2. And those who have no knowledge say: Why does not Allah speak to us or a sign come to us? Even thus said those before them, the like of what they say; their hearts are all alike. Indeed We have made the communications clear for a people who are sure.

  3. And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the messenger of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure.

  4. Is it then the judgment of (the times of) ignorance that they desire? And who is better than Allah to judge for a people who are sure?

  5. And thus did We show Ibrahim the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and that he might be of those who are sure.

  6. Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you see, and He is firm in power and He made the sun and the moon subservient (to you); each one pursues its course to an appointed time; He regulates the affair, making clear the signs that you may be certain of meeting your Lord.

  7. And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain.

  8. He said: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure.

  9. Who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and of the hereafter, they are sure.

  10. And they denied them unjustly and proudly while their soul had been convinced of them; consider, then how was the end of the mischief-makers.

  11. And he tarried not long, then said: I comprehend that which you do not comprehend and I have brought to you a sure information from Sheba.

  12. And when the word shall come to pass against them, We shall bring forth for them a creature from the earth that shall i wound them, because people did not believe in Our communications.

  13. Therefore be patient; surely the promise of Allah is true and let not those who have no certainty hold you in light estimation.

  14. Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter.

  15. And could you but see when the guilty shall hang down their heads before their Lord: Our Lord! we have seen and we have heard, therefore send us back, we will do good; surely (now) we are certain.

  16. And We made of them Imams to guide by Our command when they were patient, and they were certain of Our communications.

  17. The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure.

  18. And in your (own) creation and in what He spreads abroad of animals there are signs for a people that are sure;

  19. These are clear proofs for men, and a guidance and a mercy for a people who are sure.

  20. And when it was said, Surely the promise of Allah is true and as for the hour, there is no doubt about it, you said: We do not know what the hour is; we do not think (that it will come to pass) save a passing thought, and we are not at all sure.

  21. And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure,

  22. Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty.

  23. Most surely this is a certain truth.

  24. And most surely it is the true certainty

  25. And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals.

  26. Till death overtook us.

  27. Nay! if you had known with a certain knowledge,

  28. Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty;
