Appears 13 times in the Quran.

  1. The love of desires, of women and sons and hoarded treasures of gold and silver and well bred horses and cattle and tilth, is made to seem fair to men; this is the provision of the life of this world; and Allah is He with Whom is the good goal (of life).

  2. And Allah desires that He should turn to you (mercifully), and those who follow (their) lusts desire that you should deviate (with) a great deviation.

  3. Most surely you come to males in lust besides females; nay you are an extravagant people.

  4. And they ascribe daughters to Allah, glory be to Him; and for themselves (they would have) what they desire.

  5. But there came after them an evil generation, who neglected prayers and followed and sensual desires, so they win meet perdition,

  6. They will not hear its faintest sound, and they shall abide in that which their souls long for.

  7. What! do you indeed approach men lustfully rather than women? Nay, you are a people who act ignorantly.

  8. And a barrier shall be placed between them and that which they desire, as was done with the likes of them before: surely they are in a disquieting doubt.

  9. We are your guardians in this world's life and in the hereafter, and you shall have therein what your souls desire and you shall have therein what you ask for:

  10. There shall be sent round to them golden bowls and drinking-cups and therein shall be what their souls yearn after and (wherein) the eyes shall delight, and you shall abide therein.

  11. And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire.

  12. And the flesh of fowl such as they desire.

  13. And fruits such as they desire.
