  1. The truth is from your Lord, therefore you should not be of the doubters.

  2. (This is) the truth from your Lord, so be not of the disputers.

  3. He it is Who created you from clay, then He decreed a term; and there is a term named with Him; still you doubt.

  4. Shall I then seek a judge other than Allah? And He it is Who has revealed to you the Book (which is) made plain; and those whom We have given the Book know that it is revealed by your Lord with truth, therefore you should not be of the disputers.

  5. But if you are in doubt as to what We have revealed to you, ask those who read the Book before you; certainly the truth has come to you from your Lord, therefore you should not be of the disputers.

  6. Is he then who has with him clear proof from his Lord, and a witness from Him recites it and before it (is) the Book of Musa, a guide and a mercy? These believe in it; and whoever of the (different) parties disbelieves in it, surely it is the truth from your Lord, but most men do not believe.

  7. Therefore be not in doubt as to what these worship; they do not worship but as their fathers worshipped before; and most surely We will pay them back in full their portion undiminished.

  8. They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed.

  9. (Some) say: (They are) three, the fourth of them being their dog; and (others) say: Five, the sixth of them being their dog, making conjectures at what is unknown; and (others yet) say: Seven, and the eighth of them is their dog. Say: My Lord best knows their number, none knows them but a few; therefore contend not in the matter of them but with an outward contention, and do not question concerning them any of them.

  10. Such is Isa, son of Marium; (this is) the saying of truth about which they dispute.

  11. And those who disbelieve shall not cease to be in doubt concerning it until the hour overtakes them suddenly, or there comes on them the chastisement of a destructive day.

  12. And certainly We gave the Book to Musa, so be not in doubt concerning the receiving of it, and We made it a guide for the children of Israel.

  13. Now surely they are in doubt as to the meeting of their Lord; now surely He encompasses all things.

  14. Those who do not believe in it would hasten it on, and those who believe are in fear from it, and they know that it is the truth. Now most surely those who dispute obstinately concerning the hour are in a great error.

  15. And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path.

  16. Surely this is what you disputed about.

  17. What! do you then dispute with him as to what he saw?

  18. Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about?

  19. And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning.
