Appears 14 times in the Quran. (Root: قدر)
  1. And they say: Why has not a sign been sent down to him from his Lord? Say: Surely Allah is able to send down a sign, but most of them do not know.

  2. Say: He has the power that He should send on you a chastisement from above you or from beneath your feet, or that He should throw you into confusion, (making you) of different parties; and make some of you taste the fighting of others. See how We repeat the communications that they may understand.

  3. The likeness of this world's life is only as water which We send down from the cloud, then the herbage of the earth of which men and cattle eat grows luxuriantly thereby, until when the earth puts on its golden raiment and it becomes garnished, and its people think that they have power over it, Our command comes to it, by night or by day, so We render it as reaped seed; produce, as though it had not been in existence yesterday; thus do We make clear the communications for a people who reflect.

  4. Do they not consider that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, is able to create their like, and He has appointed for them a doom about which there is no doubt? But the unjust do not consent to aught but denying.

  5. And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away.

  6. And most surely We are well able to make you see what We threaten them with.

  7. Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like of them? Yea! and He is the Creator (of all), the Knower.

  8. Have they not considered that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth and was not tired by their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Aye! He has surely power over all things.

  9. And in the morning they went, having the power to prevent.

  10. But nay! I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests that We are certainly able

  11. Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips

  12. Is not He able to give life to the dead?

  13. So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things).

  14. Most surely He is able to return him (to life).
