تَتَّقُونَ

Appears 19 times in the Quran. (Root: وقي)
  1. O men! serve your Lord Who created you and those before you so that you may guard (against evil).

  2. And when We took a promise from you and lifted the mountain over you: Take hold of the law (Tavrat) We have given you with firmness and bear in mind what is in it, so that you may guard (against evil).

  3. And there is life for you in (the law of) retaliation, O men of understanding, that you may guard yourselves.

  4. O you who believe! fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may guard (against evil).

  5. And (know) that this is My path, the right one therefore follow it, and follow not (other) ways, for they will lead you away from His way; this He has enjoined you with that you may guard (against evil).

  6. And to Ad (We sent) their brother Hud. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; will you not then guard (against evil)?

  7. And when We shook the mountain over them as if it were a covering overhead, and they thought that it was going to fall down upon them: Take hold of what We have given you with firmness, and be mindful of what is in it, so that you may guard (against evil).

  8. Say: Who gives you sustenance from the heaven and the earth? Or Who controls the hearing and the sight? And Who brings forth the living from the dead, and brings forth the dead from the living? And Who regulates the affairs? Then they will say: Allah. Say then: Will you not then guard (against evil)?

  9. And whatever is in the heavens and the earth is His, and to Him should obedience be (rendered) constantly; will you then guard against other than (the punishment of) Allah?

  10. And certainly We sent Nuh to his people, and he said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; will you not then guard (against evil)?

  11. So We sent among them a messenger from among them, saying: Serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; will you not then guard (against evil)?

  12. They will say: (This is) Allah's. Say: Will you not then guard (against evil)?

  13. When their brother Nuh said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)?

  14. When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)?

  15. When their brother Salih said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)?

  16. When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)?

  17. When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)?

  18. When he said to his people: Do you not guard (against evil)?

  19. How, then, will you guard yourselves, if you disbelieve, on the day which shall make children grey-headed?
