  1. And Ismail and Al-Yasha and Yunus and Lut; and every one We made to excel (in) the worlds:

  2. And (We sent) Lut when he said to his people: What! do you commit an indecency which any one in the world has not done before you?

  3. But when he saw that their hands were not extended towards it, he deemed them strange and conceived fear of them. . They said: Fear not, surely we are sent to Lut's people.

  4. So when fear had gone away from Ibrahim and good news came to him, he began to plead with Us for Lut's people.

  5. And when Our messengers came to Lut, he was grieved for them, and he lacked strength to protect them, and said: This is a hard day.

  6. They said: O Lut! we are the messengers of your Lord; they shall by no means reach you; so remove your followers in a part of the night-- and let none of you turn back-- except your wife, for surely whatsoever befalls them shall befall her; surely their appointed time is the morning; is not the morning nigh?

  7. And, O my people! let not opposition to me make you guilty so that there may befall you the like of what befell the people of Nuh, or the people of Hud, or the people of Salih, nor are the people of Lut far off from you;

  8. Except Lut's followers: We will most surely deliver them all,

  9. So when the messengers came to Lut's followers,

  10. And We delivered him as well as Lut (removing them) to the land which We had blessed for all people.

  11. And (as for) Lut, We gave him wisdom and knowledge, and We delivered him from the town which wrought abominations; surely they were an evil people, transgressors;

  12. And the people of Ibrahim and the people of Lut,

  13. The people of Lut gave the lie to the messengers.

  14. When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)?

  15. They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled.

  16. And (We sent) Lut, when he said to his people: What! do you commit indecency while you see?

  17. But the answer of his people was no other except that they ~s said: Turn out Lut's followers from your town; surely they are a people who would keep pure!

  18. And Lut believed in Him, and he said: I am fleeing to my Lord, surely He is the Mighty, the Wise.

  19. And (We sent) Lut when he said to his people: Most surely you are guilty of an indecency which none of the nations has ever done before you;

  20. He said: Surely in it is Lut. They said: We know well who is in it; we shall certainly deliver him and his followers, except his wife; she shall be of those who remain behind.

  21. And when Our messengers came to Lut he was grieved on account of them, and he felt powerless (to protect) them; and they said: Fear not, nor grieve; surely we will deliver you and your followers, except your wife; she shall be of those who remain behind.

  22. And Lut was most surely of the messengers.

  23. And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties.

  24. And Ad and Firon and Lut's brethren,

  25. The people of Lut treated the warning. as a lie.

  26. Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak,

  27. Allah sets forth an example to those who disbelieve the wife of Nuh and the wife of Lut: they were both under two of Our righteous servants, but they acted treacherously towards them so they availed them naught against Allah, and it was said: Enter both the fire with those who enter.
