مُّهْتَدُون

Appears 17 times in the Quran. (Root: هدي)
  1. These are they who buy error for the right direction, so their bargain shall bring no gain, nor are they the followers of the right direction.

  2. They said: Call on your Lord for our sake to make it plain to us what she is, for surely to us the cows are all alike, and if Allah please we shall surely be guided aright.

  3. Those are they on whom are blessings and mercy from their Lord, and those are the followers of the right course.

  4. Say: I am forbidden to serve those whom you call upon besides Allah. Say: I do not follow your low desires. for then indeed I should have gone astray and I should not be of those who go aright.

  5. Those who believe and do not mix up their faith with iniquity, those are they who shall have the security and they are those who go aright.

  6. Surely your Lord-- He best knows who goes astray from His way, and He best knows those who follow the right course.

  7. They are lost indeed who kill their children foolishly without knowledge, and forbid what Allah has given to them forging a lie against Allah; they have indeed gone astray, and they are not the followers of the right course.

  8. A part has He guided aright and (as for another) part, error is justly their due, surely they took the Shaitans for guardians beside Allah, and they think that they are followers of the right

  9. Only he shall visit the mosques of Allah who believes in Allah and the latter day, and keeps up prayer and pays the poor-rate and fears none but Allah; so (as for) these, it may be that they are of the followers of the right course.

  10. And on the day when He will gather them as though they had not stayed but an hour of the day, they will know each other. They will perish indeed who called the meeting with Allah to be a lie, and they are not followers of the right direction.

  11. Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and have disputations with them in the best manner; surely your Lord best knows those who go astray from His path, and He knows best those who follow the right way.

  12. Surely you cannot guide whom you love, but Allah guides whom He pleases, and He knows best the followers of the right way.

  13. Follow him who does not ask you for reward, and they are the followers of the right course;

  14. Nay! they say: We found our fathers on a course, and surely we are guided by their footsteps.

  15. And most surely they turn them away from the path, and they think that they are guided aright:

  16. And they said: O magician! call on your Lord for our sake, as He has made the covenant with you; we shall surely be the followers of the right way.

  17. Surely your Lord best knows him who errs from His way, and He best knows the followers of the right course.
