  1. Have you not considered him (Namrud) who disputed with Ibrahim about his Lord, because Allah had given him the kingdom? When Ibrahim said: My Lord is He who gives life and causes to die, he said: I give life and cause death. Ibrahim said: So surely Allah causes the sun to rise from the east, then make it rise from the west; thus he who disbelieved was confounded; and Allah does not guide aright the unjust people.

  2. O you who believe! be not like those who disbelieve and say of their brethren when they travel in the earth or engage in fighting: Had they been with us, they would not have died and they would not have been slain; so Allah makes this to be an intense regret in their hearts; and Allah gives life and causes death and Allah sees what you do.

  3. Say: O people! surely I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, of Him Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth there is no god but He; He brings to life and causes to die therefore believe in Allah and His messenger, the Ummi Prophet who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him so that you may walk in the right way.

  4. Surely Allah's is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; He brings to life and causes to die; and there is not for you besides Allah any Guardian or Helper.

  5. He gives life and causes death, and to Him you shall be brought back.

  6. And He it is Who gives life and causes death, and (in) His (control) is the alternation of the night and the day; do you not then understand?

  7. He it is Who gives life and brings death, so when He decrees an affair, He only says to it: Be, and it is.

  8. There is no god but He; He gives life and causes death, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore.

  9. His is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; He gives life and causes death; and He has power over all things.
