يَكْسِبُونَ

Appears 14 times in the Quran. (Root: كسب)
  1. Woe, then, to those who write the book with their hands and then say: This is from Allah, so that they may take for it a small price; therefore woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn.

  2. And abandon open and secret sin; surely they who earn sin shall be recompensed with what they earned.

  3. And thus do We make some of the iniquitous to befriend others on account of what they earned.

  4. And if the people of the towns had believed and guarded (against evil) We would certainly have opened up for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they rejected, so We overtook them for what they had earned.

  5. Therefore they shall laugh little and weep much as a recompense for what they earned.

  6. They will swear to you by Allah when you return to them so that you may turn aside from them; so do turn aside from them; surely they are unclean and their abode is hell; a recompense for what they earned.

  7. (As for) those, their abode is the fire because of what they earned.

  8. And what they earned did not avail them.

  9. On that day We will set a seal upon their mouths, and their hands shall speak to Us, and their feet shall bear witness of what they earned.

  10. Those before them did say it indeed, but what they earned availed them not.

  11. Have they not then journeyed in the land and seen how was the end of those before them? They were more (in numbers) than these and greater in strength and in fortifications in the land, but what they earned did not avail them.

  12. And as to Samood, We showed them the right way, but they chose error above guidance, so there overtook them the scourge of an abasing chastisement for what they earned.

  13. Say to those who believe (that) they forgive those who do not fear the days of Allah that He may reward a people for what they earn.

  14. Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust . upon their hearts.
