ضَآلّ

Appears 14 times in the Quran. (Root: ضلل)
  1. The path of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed favors. Not (the path) of those upon whom Thy wrath is brought down, nor of those who go astray.

  2. There is no blame on you in seeking bounty from your Lord, so when you hasten on from "Arafat", then remember Allah near the Holy Monument, and remember Him as He has guided you, though before that you were certainly of the erring ones.

  3. Surely, those who disbelieve after their believing, then increase in unbelief, their repentance shall not be accepted, and these are they that go astray.

  4. Then when he saw the moon rising, he said: Is this my Lord? So when it set, he said: If my Lord had not guided me I should certainly be of the erring people.

  5. He said: And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord but the erring ones?

  6. They shall say: O our Lord! our adversity overcame us and we were an erring people:

  7. He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course;

  8. And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray;

  9. Surely they found their fathers going astray,

  10. Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie!

  11. And if he is one of the rejecters, the erring ones,

  12. But when they saw it, they said: Most surely we have gone astray

  13. And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error;

  14. And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)?
